Washington Post tech columnist pans paper’s paid iPhone app

The same day The Washington Post launched its new paid iPhone app, its technology columnist Rob Pegoraro suggested to readers that it was not worth the $1.99. Pegoraro, wrting in the Faster Forward blog on the Post Web site said, “I downloaded the app this morning, have spent the rest of the day trying it out on an iPhone 3GS … and, I’m sorry to say, you should save your money for now.”

Pegaroro cited what he saw as some missing content categories, a few bugs and the requirement to re-purchaase the app every year as reasons for his recommendation. “Speaking both as a reviewer and as a Post employee who’d like to see his employer succeed, I wish this program worked better.”
