Google has just released a 160-page PDF document called Search Quality Rating Guidelines putting and end to years of speculations about factors affecting website rankings on Google search result pages.The documents has been leaked before but this time Google decided to jump ahead and officially release the guidelines.
According to Google’s Mimi Underwood “ratings from evaluators do not determine individual site rankings, but are used help us understand our experiments. The evaluators base their ratings on guidelines we give them; the guidelines reflect what Google thinks search users want.”
Google said the guide will be updated on a regular basis so keep your eyes open for the next releases.
